This is a composite painting, meaning that I took three separate images and fit them together to communicate one idea. Born and raised a Connecticut Yankee I am interested in New England history. My visit to the Boston Tea Party Museum in Boston resulted in this painting of a schooner in a tea cup.

Sunflowers, Monarch and Flying Goldfish

I know, what is a gold fish doing flying in the sunflower field? This is a detail from a self portrait that includes composite images of things that I like. The gold sphere behind the fish is influenced by Gustav Klimt, one of my favorite artists. The Monarch Butterfly is just pure beauty in my book. The sunflowers are like happy pills. How can you not be happy looking at a sunflower? And the flying goldfish? Well, aside from loving the form of the fish, it's fanciful and challenges the imagination to be where it is.
