Flip Flops and Patches of Summer

You are looking at a portion of my life history here. Each one of the patterns in this painted quilt are from fabrics I used to make clothes back in the 70s.
The blue & maroon batik was a swirling gored skirt. The salmon, peach and cream modern was a wrap around cap sleeve blouse. The orange tropical flowers were in fact my mother's kitchen curtains. Good morning! Somehow when all of them come together, it's a happy summer quilt.

A Little Teapot

I've gotten some nice feedback on my quick sketches. Here's one more.

One of my earliest memories : My Gram had a tree in her backyard that I thought grew cherries. I distinctively remember being lifted up to pick a few off the branches. When I got older, I noticed that tree actually grew apples. Now I'm not sure, but just maybe the cherries were 'planted' on the low branches to fool the little kids.

Sketch for A Spot of Tea

I doodle when I'm on the phone and often I draw what's in front of me. There are a lot of teapot or teacup conversa- tions in my notebook.

Blueberry Muffins

It must have been the aroma of fresh baked muffins or maybe it was the reflection of light on the foil muffin cups, but I felt compelled to document these two before they got eaten.
Ps- This little painting received the Wall Gallery Award in the Guilford Art League Exhibit.
