Damselfly

I'm playing with cut paper again. Water below and flowers along the shore, the damsel hovers above. It's the essence of summer.

Roller Skates

I first learned about speed on these skates. I could not go fast enough. My sister and I would skate along the city sidewalk at my grand- mother's on Ward Place and stop ourselves with her neighbors hedge at the corner.

Red Onion

It's not corn
beef or cabbage.
It's not even
green (note the date).
But somebody,
somewhere
must be cooking
with a red onion today.

Water Lily

I grew up at a lake and waterlilies lined the edges. Every so often a turtle would poke it's head up. I remember the sound of the boat gliding over the lily pads. Swoosh.
